What is the Aquatic Explorers Society?

Aquatic Explorers Society is a community devoted to Marine Education, Conservation, and the fun of underwater exploration through stewardship, mentorship, and environmentally conscious practices. People in our community, regardless of certification, agree to uphold certain core beliefs and to share techniques that will improve explorers' experiences.

Our Core Beliefs

• Water is a life zone that requires human care, which places divers in a unique position.
• Dive education must cultivate enthusiasm for the exploration and conservation of marine life.
• Diving is a way of life worthy of learning and performing well.
• Knowledge and skill need to be shared.
• Quick-fix, drive-thru SCUBA courses are incomplete and dangerous.
• There is no substitute for knowledge, skills, and experience.  
• Dive Management Techniques help divers to plan, conduct and problem-manage dives.  
• Mentorship develops more confident divers who enjoy and better appreciate what aquatic exploration has to offer.
• Divers should be encouraged to seek improvement – not for the next certification, but to enrich themselves and others who dive.
