Divemaster

Divemasters plan, organize, and lead dive excursions. Many Divemasters are employed full-time or work independently supervising certified divers in various tour and travel activities. Divemasters are also qualified to assist an active-status Instructor in diving courses. As a prerequisite, Divemaster candidates must possess Master Diver certification and provide documentation of diving experience with a minimum of sixty logged, open water dives. Dives must be varied in environment, depth and activities.
The course of study includes:

Dive Leadership: Teaching and Learning Theory, Effective Communications
Examine the learning process, characteristics of effective teachers, tools and techniques needed to develop SCUBA courses. This stage of the course involves fifteen hours of classroom instruction and is required for those aspiring to become Divemasters, Training Assistants, and Instructor Candidates.

Mentoring Process
Mentoring is the most-neglected component of most professional dive programs and this sets our curriculum apart. You will be assigned a mentor to guide you through this process, addressing potential areas for further development and providing opportunities for practical application.
